Overview
Finocchio Consulting is seeking a strategic and dynamic Communications Manager to join our specialized consulting team. This role is critical to amplifying the client’s Crisis Response’s mission of providing secure connectivity and support to communities affected by disasters globally, leveraging the client’s technology, people, and partnerships to make meaningful impact.
As the Communications Lead for the client’s Crisis Response (CCR), you will be a strategic communications leader responsible for planning, creating, executing, and evaluating communications that highlight CCR’s critical role in disaster and humanitarian response worldwide. You will craft compelling narratives that showcase CCR’s global impact, engage with over 1000 employee volunteers, nonprofit partners, humanitarian agencies, and stakeholders. This role requires a skilled storyteller with deep experience in crisis communications, nonprofit collaboration, and global relief efforts, capable of navigating complex situations in support of CCR’s mission and strategic priorities.
You will be expected to identify where holes and gaps exist, anticipate client needs, and actively make recommendations. In addition to being a well-rounded communications professional advising with confidence, executing with attention to detail is just as critical.
Key Responsibilities
Communications Leadership & Management
Serve as the primary point of contact and project lead for Crisis Response (CCR) communications.
Collaborate with internal and external partners globally to ensure accurate representation of CCR messaging and priorities.
Lead regular communications alignment calls and participate in company-wide meetings to stay abreast of evolving priorities.
Support CCR’s representation at external events and speaking engagements.
Manage CCR’s social media presence and digital communications channels.
Support engagement with CCR’s 1,000+ volunteer community through targeted communications (e.g. newsletters, organizing All-Hands calls, webinars and updates).
Content Creation & Distribution
Author and edit impactful blogs, impact stories, social media posts and updates that highlight CCR deployments, crisis response activities, employee giving and volunteer campaigns, and strategic outcomes.
Coordinate content scheduling and stakeholder reviews with editorial teams, ensuring compliance and quality.
Amplify CCR content across client’s internal and external platforms, including social media and newsletters.
Manage CCR’s presence (e.g. booth set-up, staffing, presentations, and talking points) as needed at key events such corporate Customer Conference and Sales Conference.
Act as a communications liaison with relief agencies, government bodies, and nonprofit partners.
Draft content for reports, websites, and other collateral to include the client’s Purpose report, external website, internal SharePoint site, and HelpZone Articles (internal knowledge base).
Use AI tools for content creation, research, editing, and workflow management.
Digital & Editorial Coordination
Maintain and update CCR SharePoint sites, external websites, and collateral materials including overview decks and At-A-Glance documents.
Manage the creation, circulation, and evaluation of the quarterly newsletter.
Develop and manage the CCR editorial calendar to align communications activities and events.
Update tools such as the ESRI map quarterly and ahead of major events.
Strategy, Messaging, & Innovation
Lead the development and execution of strategic communication plans aligned with CCR’s mission and goals.
Craft key messages for use in collateral, presentations, and media.
Innovate communication approaches using diverse media formats including video, podcasts, case studies, and blogs.
Leverage AI and digital analytics to enhance communications effectiveness and efficiency.
Analytics & Reporting
Measure and analyze the impact of CCR communications using paid, earned, and owned media metrics.
Provide quarterly and ad hoc reports with actionable insights to optimize content reach and engagement.
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
8-10+ years of experience in communications preferably in crisis response, in corporate social responsibility, public safety, or nonprofit sectors.
Proven ability to develop and implement communications strategies and plans
Excellent project management capabilities, including workflow and timeline management and strong attention to detail and accuracy in work products.
Proficiency with digital content management, editorial calendars, and internal communication platforms such as SharePoint and newsletters.
Experience collaborating with executives, cross-functional teams, and external partner to deliver impactful results.
Proficiency in digital publishing tools, AI applications, digital measurement tools, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. Airtable experience a plus.
Ability to translate sensitive subject matter into clear, engaging communications.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrated experience crafting communications in an emergency, crisis situations that require timely and urgent support.

AI-enabled: Uses AI tools effectively for workflow, research, and content development.
